Westfleisch Group secures the future of The Petfood Company

CVM Capital Value Management GmbH has advised The Petfood Company GmbH, which specialises in the production of premium wet food for dogs and cats, on its sale to the Westfleisch Group. The Petfood Company's business operations in Bocholt were taken over in full on 1 February 2024 by Westfleisch SCE mbH, one of the leading meat marketers in Germany, which intends to strategically expand its portfolio in the pet food sector.

The Petfood Company faced financial challenges at the end of 2023 and had to file for insolvency as a result. Despite these difficulties, the company was able to maintain business operations and initiate a structured investor process with the help of the provisional insolvency administrator Ms Nada Nasser from KKN Rechtsanwälte PartG mbB and CVM Capital Value Management, led by Managing Partner Kai Peppmeier.

The takeover by Westfleisch is an important milestone for The Petfood Company. Westfleisch plans to expand production in Bocholt and retain the approximately 60 jobs, thereby securing the site in the long term. The co-operation of all parties involved, including The Petfood Company's loyal customers and employees, was crucial to the successful completion of this transaction.

The Petfood Company was supported by the following CVM team: Kai Peppmeier (Managing Partner), Chin Jong Swee (Senior Consultant), Marco Fiedler (Consultant)
