DATABAU acquires full-service telecommunications provider Lehmensiek Group

The Lehmensiek Group, founded in 1925 and consisting of Lehmensiek Tele-Technik GmbH and Lehmensiek Tiefbau GmbH, based in Lübeck, is characterised as a full-service provider and valued partner of various players in the telecommunications sector. Lehmensiek Tele-Technik GmbH focuses on the development and support of telecommunications infrastructures, particularly in the areas of broadband cable systems, HFC networks, FTTH/B fibre optic networks and satellite systems. In addition, Lehmensiek Tiefbau GmbH offers all civil engineering work required for the successful realisation of these projects.

STRUCTURED SALES PROCESS 

On 1 June 2023, the management of the Lehmensiek Group filed an application for insolvency under self-administration. The Lübeck Local Court approved the application and appointed attorney Philipp Wolters from BBR Buchalik Brömmekamp Rechtsanwälte mbH as the authorised representative and attorney Stefan Denkhaus from BRL BOEGE ROHDE LUEBBENHUESEN as the insolvency monitor.

The CVM Capital Value Management GmbH team, led by Managing Partner Kai Peppmeier, was exclusively mandated to lead the structured M&A process. Despite challenging framework conditions, the team succeeded in selling the Lehmensiek Group within three months as part of a transferring reorganisation, while retaining all relevant jobs.

The buyer is DATABAU Holding SE, a full-service provider in the field of telecommunications infrastructure that covers the entire spectrum of fibre optic and copper infrastructure, from planning to in-house installation for end customers. This buy-and-build vehicle has been part of the portfolio of HHS Beteiligungsgesellschaft GmbH since 2020. The business operations will continue under the name DATABAU. DATABAU Holding SE plans to further develop the company strategically and to secure future-proof and attractive jobs for its employees in the expanding company.

As part of the self-administration proceedings of the Lehmensiek Group, legal representation and advice was provided by Mr Philipp Wolters of BBR Buchalik Brömmekamp Rechtsanwälte mbH. 

The law firm specialises in restructuring and insolvency law and supports companies in overcoming financial and structural challenges. At the same time, lawyer Stefan Denkhaus from BRL BOEGE ROHDE LUEBBENHUESEN took on the role of trustee in the Lehmensiek Group's self-administration proceedings. As administrator, he had the task of protecting the interests of the creditors and monitoring the economic situation of the company.
